I guess you could say that this kid is helping to create a new sunrise for an entire nation.

What an awesome photo! I think it is humorous that in the middle of everything going on, you have a camera at the ready. Maybe you missed your MOS calling, ever think of photography/journalism for the Army? You would have been great. Keep up the good work John boy! we luv ya - Carol and Charles and the crew.

John,

I'm ashamed to admit that I've not logged on to your site yet. My correspondence does not reflect it but there hasn't been more than one day since last July that I have not prayed for you, Amy, and the kids. We also pray for you and your guys every night with the girls before bed.

I've read most of your postings and the comments. It is hard to find teh right words to express what we feel. Words fall a bit short. How can a nation say thanks for setting us free? How can a nation say thanks for keeping us free? How can you measure the sacrifice and impact? I am honored and humbled to count you a friend. I could not be more impressed or grateful. Please pass on all of our thanks to your entire group; particularly the guys who never hear from home. They all have a family back here; 250 million strong.

Have a great trip to Baghdad. May the God of all creation go before you, be your rear guard, and compass you round about; particularly when you are not aware of the danger. May the river that runs out from under the threshold of His temple run deep in your soul.

John, I love the picture. I hope that you in no way think that your little brother isn't proud of you. His immaturity and humor tends to over shadow things. We are so proud of you and we love to read your posts. You know his only way to deal with tough things is to try to make you laugh. Not sure why? Anyway please ignore his comments unless you are in the mood for them. HA HA. I guess we expect nothing less. Thanks for keeping us posted.

Hey John,

Since I know you try to keep everyone informed on what's going on in the war and keep fair record of things, and lastly you like to fish... you all should take the time to read this fishing report: http://www.gitbitfishing.com/fishing/viewtopic.php?t=2371

Wow Daddy, that is a wonderful picture. I think it is really neat that you post those, because all of the other pictures everyone see's are not all that impressive and they are always negative. It is also different when someone you know is taking them. Now
I kinda' know what it looks like over there (definetly not my first pick for a vacation). I am really sorry I have not posted a comment in a while.
I am counting down the months until you come home (days make it seem longer), and so far it has gone by faster than I thought. Anyway, I love you and miss you. I will see you soon.

Love,
Jessica

I log on every day or two to catch an update and look forward to your marvelous photography with commentary . ( For some reason 2 of my comments have not hit the blog post, I'm such a tech wiz(: !! We heard you stayed in one of Saddam's palaces. Did you get pics of that ? Hope this finds you back on your base out of Bagdad...not real crazy about you spending much time there. Today is Dad's 64th so we'll all gather to help him celebrate..(you know the old saying "wish you were here" well let me tell you truer words were never spoken!!) How are the efforts going towards securing a satellite to hook up to? What can your" Blog buddies" do to help that dream come true?? Thanks again for your blog and remember, we luv you Ps91

These pictures allow us to know that imagination just doesn't cut it when talking of what you're going through. Thanks for the reality check! Keep the photos coming.
